Dr. Shrestha has played a pivotal role in advancing emergency medical services in Nepal through the development and expansion of the country's first professional ambulance service. Nepal Ambulance Service, accessible through the emergency number 102, has become a lifeline for thousands of people requiring timely pre-hospital medical care and emergency transportation.
In his presentation, Dr. Shrestha highlighted the critical importance of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in responding to sudden cardiac arrest. Immediate use of an AED, together with prompt emergency medical assistance, significantly increases the chances of survival and recovery. Building public awareness and ensuring wider availability of AEDs are essential steps toward creating safer and more prepared communities.
